The AI automation audit checklist

A 20-question checklist to find the processes in your business that should be automated first, ranked by hours saved and revenue protected.

An AI automation audit is a structured review of how work moves through your business, used to rank which processes to automate first. This checklist is the one we run in the first week of every engagement.

Sales

  1. Where do leads arrive? (forms, calls, DMs, email, referrals)
  2. How long until the first reply, on average and at worst?
  3. Who follows up, and what happens when they are busy?
  4. Where does lead data live, and is it the same place for every source?

Operations

  1. Which tasks are done more than five times a week by hand?
  2. Which tasks require copying data from one tool to another?
  3. Which reports are built manually?
  4. What breaks when a specific person is on holiday?

Customer handling

  1. What are the ten most common questions you get?
  2. How many channels do customers use to reach you?
  3. Is there a written response standard?

Data

  1. Which numbers do you look at weekly? Where do they come from?
  2. Which spreadsheets are the "real" source of truth?

Scoring

For each answer, estimate hours per week and the revenue at risk if it goes wrong. Multiply. Sort. The top three are your roadmap.
